Hybrid Research Acceleration

Join us for a day exploring how advanced computing, AI and hybrid infrastructure can accelerate the next generation of research.

We are bringing together students, researchers, digital research professionals, industry partners and innovators to explore how advanced computing, AI and hybrid infrastructure can accelerate the next generation of research. Delivered in partnership with Softcat, NVIDIA, HPE, Microsoft and IBM, the event will showcase emerging technologies and research infrastructure, and explore how they can help researchers tackle larger challenges, analyse more complex datasets, develop new methodologies and accelerate discovery.

Registration and full event details are available via Eventbrite.

Lightning Pitches – Bold Ideas for Accelerated Research

A highlight of the event is the Lightning Pitches – Bold Ideas for Accelerated Research competition. Attendees are invited to submit an ambitious research concept inspired by the challenge:

What could you accomplish with unlimited accelerated computing power?

We are looking for visionary ideas that demonstrate how advanced computing could increase the impact, ambition or reach of research. Whether your work aims to tackle major scientific challenges, unlock new discoveries, develop innovative methodologies or create real-world impact, we want to hear your ideas.

Up to eight participants will be selected to deliver a lightning pitch during the event to a panel of experts from the University of Leeds and leading technology partners. The winning pitch will receive a technology prize provided by our industry partners.

Who Can Participate?

The competition is open to all registered attendees of Hybrid Research Acceleration. We welcome submissions from:

  • Students
  • Early career researchers
  • Academic staff
