This workshop, designed for beginners, is a short ‘taster’ session that aims to showcase the value of Social Network Analysis (SNA) for researchers in Arts, Humanities and Cultures, as well as cognate disciplines. The workshop is delivered by colleagues in Digital Creativity and Cultures Hub (DCCH).
Content
The workshop will cover:
- the value of SNA in visualising relationships between individuals and/or groups
- introduction to the software package Gephi, which can be used to create different social network visualisations
- using visualisations to better understand the underlying workings of those networks, to assist in drawing conclusions and raising further lines of inquiry

Prerequisites
- Experience: No prior experience needed.
- Equipment: Working laptop with an internet connection. You will need to install the latest version of Gephi on your laptop before attending the workshop. If you have a UoL-issued laptop you will be able to do this through AppsAnywhere.
- Data: Example datasets will be provided.
